My name is Heather Lee O’Keefe, and I want to share some exciting news with you! I recently won the title of Miss Miami 2019, which means I will be representing the city of Miami (the largest city in the state) at the Miss Florida competition on June 22-29 in Lakeland, Florida. Whoever wins Miss Florida will then go on to compete for the title of Miss America, a well-renowned and nationally-televised scholarship competition that is watched by millions of viewers each year.
I am a 22-year-old honors law student at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. Last year, I graduated from West Virginia University at the top of my class. When I am not busy studying, I volunteer my spare time to numerous organizations close to my heart, such as Bit-By-Bit Therapeutic Medical Riding Center, helping kids with disabilities via hippotherapy (horse therapy), and Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), which is a non-profit organization devoted to conserving Florida’s natural resources. I am also an avid volunteer and fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which is the official philanthropy of the Miss America Organization.
I am looking for sponsors who are willing to help me reach my goal of becoming the next Miss Florida. My ambition is to represent the Sunshine State at the national Miss America competition, but I need your help to get there. The expense to compete at Miss Florida comes out to several thousand dollars, including a week-long hotel stay, traveling costs, competition wardrobe, spotlight advertisement pages in the competition program book, and meeting the fundraising requirements for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Your generous contribution will go towards mitigating these costs. As a full-time honors law student, I cannot cover the fees all by myself—but I know I can I count on you to help me!
